One 750 ml bottle of inexpensive dry red wine
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
12 oz. Whole fresh cranberries
1 cinnamon stick
1 1/2 cups brandy of your choice, that will go well with the wine
Put everything except the brandy in a crockpot and set to high. Cook until the cranberries start to pop. Our off the heat, mash the cranberries with a potato masher, and cover the cooker with it's lid. Let sit for 24 hours.
Strain the liquid, then stir in the brandy. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for a few weeks.
Serve in small cups. Add a splash of lemonade if desired.
